Ahora, yo soy en la cuidad de Guanajuato.

Well. I´m alive and having a very difficult time typing because the keyboards in mexico are way different than in the states.

I arrived in La Cuidad de Mexico (mexico city) on tuesday, and spent all day Wednesday touring musuems and other sweet places. Thursday was spent climbing the pyramid of the sun and the pyramid of the moon in Teotihuacan. After the pyramids and a 6 hour drive, we arrived in guanajuato and met our host family's. Still haven´t met the dad because he works crazy hours, but the mom and the son, Antonio, are awesome. Antonio is 19 year old engineering student and is really cool. The house is amazing and has a great view (will post photos later). So far the meals have been amazing and this month in mexico has the possibility of being unbelievable. After a tour of the center of town last night and a tour of other parts today, I can say with certainty that Guanajuato is so so so so cool. it is beautiful and everything is picture worthy. well, i am out, but will post a few photos probably on monday or tuesday. oh yeah, my spanish is better than i thought, but i have so much to learn. adios.

T minus 2

two days before I fly to mexico city.

I'm off on a 3+month adventure in latin america. I will be Guanajuato, Mexico for over a month studying spanish and latin american history. Then I'll be in Lima, Peru for 5 weeks studying business spanish and international trade negotiation and policy. After that I'm off to Buenos Aires, Argentina over a month studying more spanish and latin american politics.

Throughout the semester I will also have the opportunity to go on a ton of sweet excursions. I'll be visiting Mexico City, the pyramids in teotihucan, and San Miguel de Allende in mexico; Huaraz, Ica, Paracas, the Nazca lines, Cusco, and Machu Picchu in peru; El Tigre and Iguazu Falls in Argentina; and i believe a side trip to Colonia del sacramento in Uruguay (but don't quote me on that one).

I super excited about this trip. My spanish is under par right now but hopin to come back at the conversational level.

Not sure what my internet access will be like when i'm in latin america but will try and keep this blog updated at least a weekly basis.
